ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have said that there is no justification for the existence of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after the historic verdict of the Supreme Court.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that they appreciate the apex court for announcing the verdict on merit. “I have 42-year-old political struggle. I was almost deprived of justice. The SC verdict is a beacon of light,” he said. “It has been clearly stated that the NAB has been used for political engineering.”
He said that the state had always mistreated those who made Pakistan. “Those who created Pakistan have their children. We have always faced dictatorship. All-out effort was made to term us thief and dacoit,” he added.
Khawaja Saad Rafique said that all political prisoners, including Hamza Shehbaz and Khurshid Shah, are prisoners of conscious.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the SC verdict has endorsed the stance of the PML-N. “Only Rs6 billion has been allocated for the big project like ML-I. It means its completion will take 197 years. It is a joke with such a huge project,” he added.
He said it had become mandatory to oust the government.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the SC verdict has exposed the reality of the accountability going on in the country. “The Saad Rafique is an example. The government and the NAB should decide to abolish the institution,” he said.
He said that the objective of such cases to harass the opponents.
