RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated the tree-plantation drive in the city on Thursday.
He inaugurated the tree-plantation drive being started by the Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) in the city.
CM Usman Buzdar and Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed planted a sapling in Realto Park, Murree Road.
Later, the chief minister also inaugurated an online app for Rawalpindi police. The APP will also inform about the location of a nearby police station. It will inform the citizens about the traffic situation in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that the police department will be made a public servant in a true sense.
He said that protection centres have been established for the transgender community. “We are providing financial and manpower resources to the police,” he added.
The chief minister said that 10,000 cops are being recruited to overcome the staff shortage in the department. “Forty-five new police stations will be established in Punjab, while land has been allocated for the construction of 101 police stations, he said.
Later, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting in Murree. He approved a new subdivision and a new police station in the city. “A new water scheme will be started at a cost of Rs220 million to over the shortage of water in the city, which will provide 600,000 gallons of water daily,” he announced.
He said that Rs24.2 million will be spent on the completion of 17km Murree-Muzaffarabad Road. “350,000 trees will be planted in Murree under the ‘Guzara Forest’,” he said.
Usman Buzdar said that Kohsar University would be established in Murree soon.
