LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday demanded abolishment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), resignation of its Chairman.
While addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PPP chairman said that after the recent verdict of Supreme Court of Pakistan, the NAB should be closed and release of all political prisoners. “The top court’s verdict clearly states that NAB is being used for political engineering,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto also accused the bureau of only taking action against opposition while turning a blind eye to government’s mega scams. He also urged all stakeholders to get together for abolishment of NAB, adding that unanimous legislation is needed for unbiased accountability process in the country.
Commenting on the performance of Punjab government, Bilawal Bhutto said that an ‘in-training’ chief minister cannot be appointed in Punjab and if the team is not eligible for the job how it can run the largest province of the country. “Are PML-N and PPP also responsible for the current corruption,” he questioned.
